Proyecto presentado en el marco de la IV Bienal de Venecia de Bogotá, “Arte y Gastronomía: porque no todo entra por los ojos”; y cuyo principal requisito era la interacción con la comunidad del sector en el desarrollo de la obra.

Esta propuesta buscó resaltar la presencia de los vendedores ambulantes de comida rápida ubicados en las calles principales del barrio Venecia, mediante el uso de elementos luminosos similares a los empleados por establecimientos nocturnos del sector. Además pretendía insertar en los circuitos sociales que se generan en torno a las comidas rápidas, un dispositivo capaz de inducir una reflexión sobre el arte contemporáneo; por medio de un un aplique de 6 cm con forma de góndola dispuesto para ser el toque final en la preparación de perros calientes, sobre este pequeño papel rezaba una frase distribuida en sus dos caras; en un lado como afirmación “esto es”y al respaldo terminaba en interrogación “ARTE?”.

This proposal aimed to highlight the presence of street food vendors located along the main roads of the Venecia neighborhood, through the use of illuminated elements similar to those employed by the area’s nightlife establishments. It also sought to insert, within the social circuits formed around fast food culture, a device capable of prompting reflection on contemporary art.

This was achieved through the inclusion of a small 6 cm decorative piece in the shape of a gondola, designed to be the final touch in the preparation of hot dogs. On the small paper attached to the ornament, a phrase was printed across both sides: on one side, as a statement, “this is”, and on the reverse, ending in a question, “ART?”.
